GMT ScanBase is a clinician-controlled 3D foot scanning platform designed to capture the plantar surface of the foot in a controlled, semi-weightbearing position. By allowing the patient to gently load their foot against a clear Perspex screen, ScanBase provides a more realistic representation of foot shape, alignment, and arch behaviour during function.
Unlike traditional non-weightbearing scans, which may overestimate arch height, or full weightbearing methods, which can allow the foot to collapse excessively, ScanBase offers a balanced and repeatable approach. It helps clinicians capture the foot in a more clinically relevant position, supporting improved orthotic design and more consistent outcomes.
